Banking is all about transactions and thus there are situations where the basis of the banking may go wrong. Yes, a wrong transaction in banking isn’t something uncommon. It can be due to many reasons, human made error by the account holder or the bank officials, fraud and technical glitches. There are many conditions that can create the wrong transaction. However, it may remain unnoticed. This is very important for the account holder to bring it to the notice of the bank manager so the corrective steps are taken in time. In order to do that a letter is written to the bank manager for the wrong transaction.

Here is how you can write the letter or application to the bank manager.

Salutation

The very first step is to address the letter to the Bank Manager. The general process of salutation of the letter is to mention the person to whom the letter is addressed. The name of the bank, the name of the branch and the address of the branch should be correctly mentioned.

It is then advised to mention the name of the sender and the address to complete the salutation process of the letter.

Date

The date should be the date of writing the letter.

Subject

The subject is the summary of the letter and it should mention the purpose of writing the letter. It should basically give the Bank Manager a rough idea about the issue. It has to be very self-explanatory of course.

Body

The body of the letter should contain the details of the issue. The account holder must mention few of the important aspects of the body.

  1. Account Number of the Subscriber
  2. Details of the Transaction
  3. Transaction Number if possible
  4. If Transaction Number is not available then the details of the transaction should be provided.
  5. Details of the transaction include name of the Payee, Date and Time of transaction and the amount of transaction
  6. Core issue of the wrong transaction

All of these are very much required for the Bank Manager to act upon the request. The body must have all the details that are required to take action against the wrong transaction. The proofs must be enclosed with the application and that should be mentioned in the letter.

Closure

Close the letter by writing your name with the closure note.

A letter to the Bank Manager for the wrong transaction can be very helpful. This should bring the attention of the manager and at the same time, it should serve as a proof for the account holder in case of non-actions from the bank.

Please note that the transaction should be verified by the bank as soon as possible.
